Half Neoprene Kettlebell
Half Neoprene Kettlebell
The Half Neoprene Kettlebell by Alex Athletics is designed for safe, quiet home workouts. Featuring a solid cast iron core, the bottom half is dipped in soft, durable neoprene to protect your floors from scratches and reduce noise. The smooth, uncoated handle ensures proper rotation and grip comfort during swings and snatches. With a stable flat bottom and vibrant aesthetic, it offers the performance of a pro kettlebell with the safety features needed for a living room gym.
Floor-Safe Power: Half Neoprene Kettlebell
For home gyms and studios with delicate flooring, the Half Neoprene Kettlebell by Alex Athletics is the perfect compromise between hardcore performance and interior protection. This kettlebell features a solid cast iron core for density and balance, but the bottom half is dipped in a thick, durable layer of Neoprene. This synthetic rubber coating acts as a built-in shock absorber. When you set the bell down (or drop it during a fatigued set), the neoprene cushions the impact, preventing scratches, dents, and chips on tile, wood, or laminate floors. It also significantly dampens noise, making it a neighbor-friendly choice for upstairs apartments.
While the base is protected, the handle remains pure cast iron (often painted for smoothness). This is critical for performance; a neoprene-coated handle would cause friction burns. The smooth iron handle allows the kettlebell to rotate freely in your palm during Snatches and Cleans without snagging. The handle geometry is wide enough to accommodate two-handed swings comfortably. With a flat bottom for stability during renegade rows and clear weight markings, this kettlebell brings the functional benefits of ballistic training—fat loss, explosive power, and posterior chain strength—into the home environment safely and stylishly.
1. Protective Neoprene Dipping
The standout feature is the neoprene shell. Unlike hard iron, this material is soft and forgiving. It protects your floors from impact damage and protects the kettlebell itself from rust and chipping. The matte texture of neoprene also provides a non-slip base for floor exercises.
2. Smooth Iron Handle
Alex Athletics understands that grip matters. The handle is left uncoated (or smooth painted) to ensure proper rotation mechanics. This prevents the “sticky” feeling of rubber handles that can tear up your hands during high-repetition swings and snatches. It holds chalk well for a secure grip.
3. Noise Reduction
Iron on concrete is loud. Neoprene on rubber is quiet. The coating deadens the sound of the bell hitting the floor or the rack. This acoustic dampening is a major advantage for early morning workouts or shared living spaces.
4. Stable Flat Base
The base of the kettlebell is machined flat before dipping. This ensures it sits perfectly upright and doesn’t wobble. This stability is essential for safety during storage and for performing advanced exercises like push-ups on the kettlebell handles (Renegade Rows).
5. Color-Coded & Aesthetic
Neoprene allows for vibrant coloring. These bells often come in specific colors (like Blue) or color-coded variations, making weight identification easy. The two-tone look (black handle, colored body) adds a modern, sporty aesthetic to your workout space.
