Half Rack
Half Rack
The Half Rack by Alex Athletics is a commercial-grade powerhouse for heavy lifting. Built from massive 75x75mm steel tubing, it supports an immense 800kg load with absolute stability. Featuring quick-release J-hooks and safety spotter arms lined with HDPE to protect your barbell, it ensures safe solo training. The open-front design allows for versatile movement, while integrated plate storage keeps your gym organized. It is the ultimate professional station for squats, presses, and pull-ups.
The Heavy Hitter: Commercial Half Rack
The Half Rack by Alex Athletics is the centerpiece of a serious strength training facility. Bridging the gap between a full power cage and a squat stand, it offers the stability and safety of a cage with the open-access footprint of a stand. Constructed from massive 75 x 75mm square steel tubing with a 3mm wall thickness, this rack is built like a tank. It boasts a staggering 800kg load capacity, meaning it will handle any weight a human can lift—and then some. The “Half Rack” design features an open front, which is ideal for Olympic lifting movements (like overhead press) that require vertical clearance, while still providing a safe enclosure for squats and bench presses.
Functionality is maximized with premium attachments. The rack comes standard with commercial-grade J-hooks and safety spotter arms. These are lined with HDPE gaskets to protect the knurling of your barbell from metal-on-metal contact, preserving your investment. Both attachments feature a quick-release mechanism with laser-cut numbering on the uprights, making height adjustments fast and precise. The rear of the rack is equipped with 8 plate storage horns, allowing you to store tons of weight while adding further stability to the unit. With an integrated pull-up bar and band pegs capability, the Alex Half Rack is a professional-grade station for powerlifters, athletes, and serious home gym owners.
1. Massive 800kg Load Capacity
This is not a budget rack. The 75x75x3mm steel frame is industrial grade. It provides absolute rigidity—no wobbling or shaking when you rack a heavy squat. The 800kg rating ensures it can support world-record loads, providing a safety margin that instills total confidence.
2. Quick-Release J-Hooks & Safeties
Speed and ease of use are critical. The J-hooks and safety arms can be adjusted in seconds without tools. The laser-cut numbering on the uprights means you never have to guess if the bar is level. The safety arms are long enough to catch a failed lift, acting as a reliable spotter for solo training.
3. Barbell Protection (HDPE)
Your barbell is the most important tool. The contact points on the J-hooks and safeties are lined with High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). This plastic layer absorbs impact and prevents the sharp knurling of your bar from being flattened against hard steel. It keeps your bar looking and performing like new.
4. Integrated Plate Storage
The rack features 8 weight horns on the rear uprights. This storage system keeps your plates organized and off the floor. More importantly, the weight of the stored plates anchors the rack to the ground, increasing its stability during dynamic movements like kipping pull-ups or racking heavy weights.
5. Open-Front Versatility
The Half Rack design offers freedom. Without front posts to block you, you can easily walk the bar out for lunges or perform overhead presses without hitting the ceiling of a cage. It allows for the use of a lifting platform directly in front of the rack for deadlifts and Olympic lifts.
