Super EZ Curl Bar
Super EZ Curl Bar
The Super EZ Curl Bar by Alex Athletics takes arm training to the next level with its aggressive camber design. The exaggerated curves allow for a near-neutral hammer grip, intensely targeting the brachialis and forearms for thicker arm development. This deep geometry also increases the Range of Motion (ROM) for tricep exercises, allowing the bar to clear the head for a deeper stretch during skull crushers. Built from solid steel with rotating Olympic sleeves and a chrome finish, it offers superior wrist relief for those with mobility issues and a unique stimulus for advanced bodybuilders.
Extreme Angles for Extreme Growth: The Super EZ Curl Bar
When standard isolation isn’t enough, the Super EZ Curl Bar enters the conversation. While the standard EZ bar offers a gentle semi-supinated grip, the Super EZ Bar features significantly more aggressive, exaggerated curves in the shaft. This extreme camber allows for a nearly neutral (hammer) grip and a steeper supinated grip. This design is specifically engineered to target the brachialis and brachioradialis muscles more effectively than any other barbell. By placing the hands in a near-vertical position, the Super EZ bar shifts the load to the sides of the arms, adding thickness and width to the upper arm profile. It is the ultimate tool for Hammer Curls performed with a barbell, allowing for heavier loading than is typically possible with dumbbells.
The deep U-shape of the center bend also offers a unique mechanical advantage for tricep work. During overhead extensions or lying tricep presses, the deep camber allows the bar to clear the head and forehead more easily, permitting a greater Range of Motion (ROM) and a deeper stretch at the bottom of the rep. This increased stretch is a primary driver of hypertrophy. Like its standard counterpart, the Alex Super EZ Curl Bar is built from high-quality solid steel with a chrome finish and rotating Olympic sleeves. The knurling on the steep angles ensures that your grip stays locked in, even when the leverage is challenging. It is a specialized tool for the advanced bodybuilder looking to hit the arms from every conceivable angle.
1. Aggressive Camber Geometry
The “Super” in the name refers to the depth of the bends. The angles are much steeper than a standard EZ bar. This allows for a grip that is almost perpendicular to the floor (neutral grip). This hand position is crucial for targeting the brachialis (the muscle underneath the bicep that pushes it up) and the forearm muscles, contributing to thicker-looking arms.
2. Ultimate Tricep ROM
For skull crushers and overhead extensions, range of motion is king. The deep curve in the center of the Super EZ bar accommodates the user’s head/forehead, allowing the hands to descend further behind the head before the bar makes contact. This extra few inches of stretch places maximal tension on the long head of the tricep, stimulating growth that shallow movements miss.
3. Wrist & Forearm Relief
For athletes with severe wrist immobility or injury, the standard EZ bar might still cause discomfort. The Super EZ bar’s steeper angle puts the wrist in an even more natural, neutral position (like a handshake). This minimizes interosseous membrane stress and allows users to train heavy arms even while working around wrist limitations.
4. Barbell Hammer Curls
Hammer curls are traditionally done with dumbbells, but dumbbells can become unwieldy at heavy weights. The Super EZ bar allows you to perform hammer curls with a single, stable implement. This enables heavier loading and easier micro-loading (adding small plates), facilitating progressive overload for the brachioradialis.
5. Professional Build Quality
This is a gym-quality bar. It features 50mm rotating sleeves with bushings or bearings to ensure smooth rotation. The chrome finish provides corrosion resistance and a sleek look. The knurling is strategically placed on the angled sections to ensure traction exactly where you need it.
Who is this for?

- Lifters wanting to prioritize the brachialis and forearms.
- Individuals with significant wrist pain on standard bars.
- Athletes wanting to maximize range of motion on tricep exercises.
- Those who prefer the stability of a bar for hammer curls.
